Show Description:

Aspiring stand-up comedians take the stage armed with their best jokes, only to be roasted mercilessly if the punchlines fall flat. Who will conquer the laughter challenge, and who will leave the stage with a side of roast? Because in comedy, only the truly funny survive! 

There will be a prize for best set of the night... and the audience decides!

Fonzo Crow:

Dallas native Fonzo Crow is a star on the RISE! When he is not performing his high energy, quick witted comedy. Fonzo has always seen this world through a different lens. His comedy will leave you in stitches with his stories about fraternity life, married/divorce life and the challenges on being a father raising stepkids . He talks about his love for his son and becoming a stepgrandfather. Fonzo credit his comedic ability to his upbringing in Dallas Tx. Being a favorite among his comedic colleagues Fonzo has been fortunate to feature for man national headliners and performed at legendary venues such as Los Angeles’ famous clubs such as Jay Anthony Brown’s “ The J Spot”, The Laugh Factory ,The Comedy Store, Improv Comedy Clubs, The Comedy Union, etc. Fonzo was a semifinalist for Shaq’s All-Star Comedy Jam Tour, as well as the funniest comic in Texas in 2019 and currently he is touring colleges and clubs across America. While he is trending to become a household name you better lookout for this breakout talent! 

CJ Starr:

CJ Starr was raised all over the Midwest, but his comedy was born in Texas. His comedy continues to make all crowds laugh about the things that make him win step-dad of the year and anything else that can happen to a mid-40s man as he tries to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up. CJ Starr’s Comedy can relate to any audience as he makes fun of his upbringing, his bi-racial marriage, family, kids, stereotypes, jail time, and 10 years of Community College. His comedy is very versatile; as well as his fans he has acquired over the years and that is why he has fan base includes every walk of life.

CJ Starr most recently was spotlighted on JLTV. He was selected to perform at The Odd Ball Comedy Festival and Gilda’s Laughfest for 3 years in a row. CJ has continued to expand his comedic talent as writer for Apple TV and actor for the soon to be release Web series “Giggle Lows”. CJ Starr has appeared on Fox Laughs four times, and he can be seen on Hulu. He currently has a Podcast called “Dad Bodies of Comedy“ where he interviews Comedians, and anybody else that can give a great story that keeps the fans laughing.
